Dark, sensuous, and lusty! That's the only way I can best describe this short story. The main character Damien is aging in a world surrounded by youthful beauty; he's lost the man he loved, and he has no idea where he's heading. Until Gabriel brings him the answer. I read this book in an evening; it's wonderfully descriptive, intense, and sexy. If you're into gay paranormal, you'll love it!
so what happens when fate makes your past in your present and the one you thought you would be with in your past . and what is it about a man that comes into his life and changes him find out by buying and reading and reviewing i have one more book in this series to review and that will be on Thursday .
Not only is the cover amazing, but the story that unfolds beneath is at once erotic and dark. Damien is an aging man trying to deal with lost love, his changing body, and memories he'd like to erase. Pablo Michaels does an excellent job of reeling you in with exciting characters and a story-line that makes you think. He weaves love, passion, and the paranormal into an intriguing story that you will love.
Sensuous and erotically seductive is the only way to describe this very creative love story. I immediately established an emotional connection with Damian who clearly lusts for love but is unsuccessful in rekindindling his romance with his former lover. The mysterious and sexy Gabriel captivates Damian and summons him to join the living dead where love and eroticism is their livelihood. Pablo Michaels did an excellent job in describing this unique story that you can't help but to feel as if you were present right there with the characters. I enjoyed this as my first gay paranormal book. As another reader mentioned, I would like to see a sequel, perhaps in Spain.
Blood, Sweat and Black Leather; a fun, erotically charged, dark short.
Finding love after a certain age is hard for anyone. If you have had that kind of forever love you can’t help but think that it would be nice to rekindle what you once had with that special person. Damien thought the same thing and tried to no avail.
Until Gabriel enters his life…I loved the way Damien was sensually charged with lust for Gabriel right away. It was sexy and fun. Reminded me of the old vampire movies where they enter unseen with that same sensuality to them. Did I mention sexy…Ok it was just plain HOT! It was nice after all Damien had gone through with the doubt of being an older gay man thinking he would have to live the rest of his life alone…in walks an olde world vampire giving him his life back with the promise of forever.
Mr. Michaels has written another great story. I feel he has entered into an uncharted genre by writing for those that are older. They want the same things everyone does. I really liked this Sensual Paranormal story. Keep up the good work Mr. Michaels I think you found you niche.
The intention behind the plot, two aging gay men, one a vampire looking for his lifetime mate, the other a lonely man still hung up on his ex, was good.
The two connect, the vamp bites the human, changing him to a vampire so they can live and love together for eternity.
The fact that this paranormal focuses on older gay males rather than the usual m/f or younger gay vampy books was intriguing, and, in my humble opinion, remains unique in a market inundated with young heterosexual paranormal romance.
The story, however, suffers extensively due to the multiple changes in POV, head hopping, and tense changes throughout. Unfortunately, there were simply too many instances of repetitive word use and a lack of original details to describe the sex scenes to make me rave about it being anything more than a long, drawn out repetition of part A into hole B or C, and the resulting ejaculation.
This reader wanted to enjoy the story, liked the blurb and the premise it could have been, however, I found it difficult to engage in a continuous read due to the above issues.
I've rated it a 3.5 for the story it could have been if it'd been effectively and properly edited to reflect the capability of the author.
I am sad I wasn't able to give it a higher rating.

It has been a long time since I have read anything written by Pablo Michaels and I would have to say that during his stages of writing it was his earlier unpublished work that I loved the best and I am overjoyed to see that he is getting back to his old style but with more finesse and refinement.
Mr. Michaels introduced us to Damien in a very emotional way, and managed to build his back story in a way that was both tender and shocking. My heart ached for what Damien had gone through and when he met Gabriel I found myself rooting for this no nonsense, romantical, olde world character.
I believe this is Mr Michaels first foray into the written world of paranormal erotica and as such has done himself justice.
If you have never read any of Mr Michaels previous books then this is a good introduction to his particular writing style, which is aimed at the more mature and discerning reader.
I enjoyed Blood, Sweat and Black Leather immensely but as always there is a BUT.
After giging it serious consideration I opted to give Mr Michaels book a 4 out of 5 for this review. I did lean towards a five star review but it was just those little things that prevented me from doing so. Grammatical errors in regards to tense hit me quared in the face. This is not the author's fault as it should have been covered in the editing. There were also a few times, not many just a few, where I became confused as to what was being done by what character and to whom.
All in all though, I would still highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Gay, Paranormal Erotica.
Well done Mr Michaels and please keep on writing. A sequel to Blood, Sweat and Black Leather would be a brilliant move.
