The Alliance is no doubt an ambitious project that aims to add some spice and dark romance to sci-fi narrative.There are points in which the Novel succeeds, there are other aspects mostly linked to pacing and style that can be worked upon. However this doesn't take from the overall story. It is enjoyable.
Em Myles is not afraid of constructing a whole New World meant to frame characters that although in foreign environment, are still relatable.
This story revolves around Kayla young woman that has been selected to be a part of the Jigu campus Academy, one of the most prestigious education centers in the galaxy.
Away from home and perceived as a pariah she will find herself facing trials that are soon complicated by the sudden interest of certain students... Her dangerous relationship with Lucas J. Sinclair, heir to a permanent position of the alliance, might turn her personal life and probably the world upside down.
The story has elements of sci-fi, high degree of tension and relies on mature subject when brushing with romance.
There are certain Issues concerning pace, as some aspects of the narrative could use editing but overall it's a good mix of science-fiction and dark romance. (3.5 stars)

This is my first time reading this author. I was pleasantly pleased. Great character development and the description of the the different planets was really good. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was the editing. Simple misspelled names and of places and characters and a few repetitive word placement. I hate having to reread sentences become unsure of what the author meant. I'm looking forward to Jacob and Ebony's story. Heat level definitely on 1000! Great job Ms Em!!
The charaters is so fun to read ,I thought I was in the story.

I really loved the book, it was a great length. I could hardly put the book down. I would however tell the author to have someone proof read the story.

Good story line but has a lot of grammatical errors but still a good read. Would like to see how the story will end.
